Carey takes pride in having the best chauffeurs on the road by only choosing career-oriented applicants. All applicants must possess a strong customer service attitude, have a well-groomed appearance, be articulate and have the ability to manage situations that arise in the field. All applicants undergo criminal and work history background checks, random drug testing, and continual MVR checks.
Chauffeurs receive comprehensive classroom training based on the principles of the Carey Standards Manual as well as geography. After completing the classroom and on-the-road training program and testing, chauffeurs are equipped with the necessary tools to handle clients’ every need.
Carey chauffeurs are expected to be "mobile concierges," able to welcome all travelers to the city of New Orleans with a wealth of local knowledge while providing professional and detailed chauffeured service.
The Carey chauffeur is professionally dressed in a uniform consisting of black suit, white shirt, Carey tie, and black dress shoes in addition to a well-groomed appearance.
Carey New Orleans was the first local company to receive National recognition for the implementation and achievement for all chauffeurs having completed the only Safety program recognized by the National Limousines Association. But we didn’t stop there... we also practice the principles of Smith System Defensive Driver Training, which has served more than half of today’s Fortune 500 organizations. We have an on staff Smith System Certified Trainer and all drivers receive on road training using the Smith System Method.
All vehicles are on a preventative maintenance schedule. Our chauffeurs inspect their vehicles every day before leaving the garage. Every problem is promptly addressed by our own in-house maintenance personnel or our contracted mechanic.
